Pakistan
lifts YouTube Ban
Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Technology
on Wednesday lifted a ban on YouTube, a popular
video sharing website which was blocked in a bid
to contain ‘blasphemous’ content, Pakistan’s
The Nation website reported.
YouTube was blocked just a day after the Pakistan
Telecommunications Authority, or PTA, shut down
the popular social networking website Facebook
after a controversy surrounding the website hosting
an event promoting caricatures of Islam’s
Prophet Mohammed.
The page "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day!"
sparked protests in Pakistan's biggest city Karachi.
Protesters demanded that all websites containing
un-Islamic material should be shut down.
From Youtubeurdu.com
Youtube is Blocked in Pakistan, its really nice
step and we are happy on this action of Government
of Pakistan, as Islam is our first priority. Youtube
is world's most popular site and it should be
free of any kind of unislamic religious matters.
So we are waiting for youtube to remove all unislamic
videos from its site so it coule be back in Pakistan.
And thanks to Govt and Chief Justice of Pakistan
for taking action and blocking facebook. It should
be closed for ever so the owners of facebook get
lesson that Muslims
are Alive and Love their Prophet (PBHU).
